in 2019 they admitted a server migration screwup permanently deleted like 12 years of everyone's uploaded music/video/photos. probably one of the biggest accidental data losses ever on the internet.
facebook just ate its lunch in the late 2000s after a bunch of bad redesigns made it slow and clunky. News Corp sold it for pennies compared to what they paid. still technically exists but mostly known now for that time they accidentally deleted like 12 years of everyone's uploaded music during a server migration lol
