couldn't keep up once the iPhone/android touchscreen+app-store era took over. they bailed on making phones entirely in 2016 and just license the name out now. pivoted to enterprise cybersecurity, which is honestly doing fine, just not something regular people notice.
their enterprise security business (BlackBerry QNX etc) is actually used in a ton of cars now, most people have no idea.
