RadioShack struggled for years trying to figure out what it actually was, part electronics parts store, part gadget retailer, and it never fully committed to either. amazon and big box stores crushed it on price. it filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015, closing thousands of stores, then filed again in 2017. today the brand mostly exists online and through a small number of licensed franchise locations.
