Unlike Laika, Belka and Strelka survived their 1960 orbital flight and became celebrities in the USSR. Strelka later had puppies, one of which was gifted to President Kennedy's family. Both dogs lived out their lives peacefully and were later preserved and displayed in a Moscow museum.
